GeoCaching Walk
1 Walk Sunday Only
This is a chance to discover the new world of Geocaching – and without having to buy the kit! Geocaching is a high tech treasure hunting game, using GPS technology to find hidden “treasure”. It’s a great way to get children and young poeople motivated for a walk in the countryside. Geocaching Wales have agreed to offer an introductory course, and are lending us some of their GPS units for the day. We will meet them on the Sports ground carpark at 9.30 am, where the background to Geocaching will be briefly explained and the GPS units will be demonstrated. After that we will head for the hills in their minibus and park at Garreg Lwyd (SJ 074 461). There will be a circular walk of around 4 miles (6.4km) hunting geocaches on the way. This walk would be great for families with energetic children and young people.
