Clothing & Equipment

We recommend that adequate and comfortable footwear is essential along with the appropriate clothing for the conditions likely to be encountered. It is recommended that walkers bring some food and drink for the duration of the walks where applicable. We have included some links to the Cotswold Outdoor website who are supporting the Corwen Walking Festival

Clothing

  • Appropriate Walking Footwear: Look For: waterproof fabric or leather; rubber cleated soles such as ‘Vibram’ which will give you more grip. Trail Shoes (Lightweight; low-cut; good for easier trails in summer) will be quite appropriate for some walks but for the longer and higher routes we would recommend 3-Season Boots (high-cut over ankles; good for rougher paths)

You can buy Ordnance Survey maps from the Post Office and Waterloo House in Corwen and our own pop up Cotswold Outdoor shop will also have them for sale. Our walks will be mainly on Odnance Survey Explorer map sheet 255 Llangollen and Berwyn. We will also have to hand QR codes for the Viewranger maps so that these can be downloaded to your smart phone prior to you leaving for your walk.

We have Yellow Publication maps for sale at the festival and the sale of these helps us to run the festival.
