Races at Corwen Walking Festival

In 2024 we are looking at offering three races. These will be self led and will be either walking or running. They will be a personal challenge and although we will award prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd we will be concentrating on people finishing the races as a personal challenge and medals will be awarded for all. We think the cost of the races will range from £21 to £46 depending on which race you choose. The cost will include your medal, a T shirt (or donation to charity) and refreshments along the route. At every aid/feed station there will be the opportunity to drop out. 

The Three Races

Race 1 - Corwen to Carrog and back

22.37 km - 949 metres of ascent

From Corwen take the North Berwyn Way up past Liberty Hall then onto Moel Fferna. From here drop down to Llidiart Y Parc into Carrog then back to Corwen on the Dee Valley Way

Race 2 - Corwen to Glyndyfrdwy and back

35.19 km - 1401 metres of ascent

From Corwen Take the North Berwyn Way up past Liberty Hall then onto Moel Fferna. From here continue on the North Berwyn Way through the former quarry on to the road down to Glyndyfrdwy where you descend into the village. from here you go back up to join the Dee Valley way which you stay on back through Carrog then then onto your finish in Corwen.

Race 3 - Corwen to Llangollen and back

46.39 km - 1681 metres of ascent 

From Corwen take the full North Berywn Way past Liberty Hall across Moel Fferna across Vivod Mountain and into Llangollen. From Llangollen pick up the Dee Valley Way and continue back down the opposite side of the Valley on this route back to Carrog then onto your final destination in Corwen.

None of these challenges whether you are running or walking (or in most cases a mixture of both) are to be underestimated as they all represent a real personal challenge
